Electricity use will dramatically change your homebase. Experience unusual weather that is hard to come across in real life. Allocate natural resources according to a more natural logic.
Electricity
We think it is time to bring a new type of energy to Nalcott – electricity!
Most of the devices need electricity to be up and running, including workbenches, defensive structures and lighting. Don't worry, you don't have to be an electrician to play with electronics. All you have to do is connect these devices to a generator, simple as that.
Hydro, wind, biomass, solar, and anomaly generators are all available. The other four might be well-known to you, but what exactly is an anomaly generator?
Anomaly is a powerful thing that can affect the people or environment around it. It can take up the form of a talking gun, a humanoid with an unusual head or a ghost. By finishing a corresponding mission, you can contain the anomaly in your backpack. An anomaly generator then turns the energy of the anomaly into electricity using cutting-edge technology, that's why it is more sophisticated than the others and will be unlocked later in the game.
Weather
We've been working on the weather system since the last test and have recently made more progress to provide you with a more realistic experience. Besides sunny, windy, and rainy days, we are now introducing extreme climate events into the wild based on geographical features. These include thunderstorms, dust storms, and other weather conditions.
In extreme weather, visibility and speed of movement will drop relatively. Furthermore, your homebase, furniture and devices are vulnerable to the effects of bad weather. If exposed to sandstorm or thunder, their durability will gradually deteriorate. So, choose your homebase location carefully.
Materials
We modified the basic rules of the game world, distributing all those minerals, animal resources, and plants following a more natural logic.
Now, besides finding different resources in different areas of difficulties, you may also find trees growing closer to waterbodies, minerals popping out more around rock formations and mountains, while animals avoiding the main roads. Focus on these environmental clues and you can easily find the right resources!
